Inside Out Events May 2008 Newsletter
May 4, 2008
Inside Out Events May 2008 Newsletter Volume 1, Number 1 Welcome to our launch event. Only months ago this club was just an idea, and here we are today celebrating that idea as reality. Our vision was to bring together a diverse group of women who could then inspire and encourage each other. So let us take a moment to thank you for being here today, for being a part of this vision and for your role in bringing it from an idea into reality. Together we will laugh, cry (sometimes laughing until we cry!) while challenging and supporting each other make all of our ideas and dreams become our reality. ~Paulina & Anita~ Family Transition Place As women supporting women, we have chosen to sponsor Family Transition Place using a portion of the proceeds generated at select events. We also encourage you to help support them as well. At events you can purchase raffle tickets, make cash donations or donate gift cards for the following items that appear on their wish list: Ø Electronics stores Ø Movie rentals Ø Costco Ø Department stores Ø Book stores Ø Long Distance Calling Cards Ø Gym passes Ø Bus tickets For a complete list or to make a donation directly at your convenience, visit: www.familytransitionplace.ca You can link to them through our website. Events As many of you know, each of our events will have a theme. We will do our best not only to ensure you have a great time at each event, but also that we get you the best possible price so that you can afford to attend and participate often. Words to Live By Although this is a quote many of us may be familiar with, I often find revisiting it to be inspiring. It embodies the philosophy of Inside Out Events so I thought it would be nice to share here, in this circle of friends. Enjoy! ~ Anita Allen “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson, A Return To Love Blaze In Style Fashion Tips Ladies, PLEASE dress for the body you have, NOT the one you wish you had. And remember, just because you can get it on, doesn’t mean that it fits. Ø Always be sure to wear the proper undergarments Ø The same purse and shoes do not go with every outfit Ø Dress for 2008. GET CURRENT. Times change and so do styles in fashion, hair and make-up Ø Edit your wardrobe. Donate what you shouldn’t be there. Repair, dry clean and organize Ø Don’t be afraid to have your clothes tailored. You will be amazed at how much better things fit and look. Ø Spend a little extra on your shoes. Check the leather, buckles and straps. One good pair of shoes is better than 3 pairs of trendy cheap shoes. Ø Educate yourself on high-end labels. Feel the fabric, try them on to understand the difference in how they fit – it’s FREE! Ø If you are short don’t wear knee length Capri pants. Get them a little longer to elongate your legs Ø Be monochromatic at times when you want to elongate your shape and appear thinner. Wearing shades of the same colour from top to bottom will do this. Ø Don’t wear clothes that are too baggy. You will appear bigger than you are. Ø The knee length A line skirt flatters almost any figure. Ø Don’t worry if your bag doesn’t match your shoes Ø Don’t be afraid to mix patterns Ø Don’t be afraid to mix metals (gold/silver) Closet staples: the pieces you can’t go wrong investing in: Ø A crisp white blouse Ø A black pant suit with boot cut pants and a well fitted blazer Ø A good fitting pair of jeans Ø Black pumps Ø Some great accessories to mix and match Don’t be afraid of change. Take a chance. I guarantee you will feel better, inside and out! ~Paulina Copyright 2008 Inside Out Events www.inside-out-events.com inside-out-events@live.com 416-528-3333 or 416-254-6420
